Protection and restoration of metal surfaces

Bluing

Bluing restores the protective appearance of a firearm's metal parts and helps preserve the surface with proper maintenance.

Bluing: restoring the finish

Bluing is a finish for metal parts that contributes to an even appearance and additional surface protection. Before any treatment, the condition of the metal, existing damage and traces of corrosion must be assessed.

Cold and hot bluing

We provide cold and hot surface protection for all types of firearms: hunting rifles, shotguns, combination guns and pistols. The choice of process depends on the type and condition of the metal and on whether the whole part or only the damaged surface is treated.

Careful preparation is key

The metal is inspected and prepared so that the finish is even.
Deep damage and corrosion require an individual assessment before work begins.
After bluing, regular cleaning and preservation help maintain the result.

Before and after bluing

Hunting rifle
A shotgun with a worn and damaged finish on its metal parts before work, and the same gun after metal preparation and bluing.

Pistol
A pistol with traces of corrosion and a worn coating before treatment, and the same pistol after rust removal and a new finish.

Barrels and parts
Shotgun barrels and receiver after bluing, ready for reassembly.

Before you come, we recommend getting in touch with a description of the condition and photos of the metal parts. This makes it easier to assess the scope of work and the turnaround time.
